This one of a kind pedal car is designed in the classic 50-60's hot rod theme made famous by the likes of Dean Jefferies and others. Some flames on the front fenders and scallops down the quarters to the tailights. The flames are done in Diamond Extreme Color, it is called Extreme Red Tricoat which is a relative to Mystic Color that was introduced on the 1996 Mustang Cobra by BASF. This paint has special pearl pigments that reflect different colors back depending on the light source and angle. The Scallops down the tops of the rear quarters are done in Carrizma Candy Yellow and Orange over the top of a gold metallic basecoat. These candy coatings are available in 8 different concentrates and BASF supplies similar candy pigments to all of the major custom color companies like House of Kolor and PPG. The difference in the BASF coatings is the resin base that is used that allows ours to have very fast drying candies that are much easier to work with. The black was done with UNO Factory pack black single stage that was sanded down and recoated with the flames and scallops. The chrome is done with D121 Diamond Silver that is sprayed over the black and ends up looking a lot like real chrome. The final clear coat is DC5120 which is a high production clearcoat that can air dry in one hour or has a ten minute bake time.
